The University Open Day on April 13, 2019 was held in the newest format #BeketovOpenSpace - in the format of a real holiday. Despite the rainy weather and classes in some schools of the Kharkiv region, on this day many visitors came to the University: future applicants with parents, teachers and colleagues.
The Department of Applied Mathematics and Information Technologies is a graduate in three information specialties 122 - Computer Science, 126 - Information Systems and Technologies, 151 - Automation and Computer-Integrated Technologies, to the Open Day offered interesting new interactive presentations.
Traditionally, on the eve of #BeketovOpenSpace, teachers of the department visited the sponsored schools and colleges, talked about the development of information-oriented specialties at the University, invited students to take part in events, feel the level of the University as one of the best in Ukraine.
This year, the department carries out the first graduation of bachelors “Systems Engineering” (specialty 151 - Automation and computer-integrated technologies).
Preparing for the Open Day, Boris Bocharov (Ph.D., Associate Professor) who oversees the issues of replenishing specialties of the Department of Applied Mathematics and Information Technologies by applicants, invited the graduate students of the SINZH 2015-1 group to record short video clips with stories about how they studied and what they learned, where they already work and what is useful in general training on our computer specialties. Students responded with interest to the proposal and presented various video plots.
This time the department had several locations: in the mirror hall of the University, where Alexander Kostenko (Ph.D., Associate Professor) was helped, as always, by the magnificent four friends of the students of the group CS 2016-1 - Braterskaya Natalia, Eremin Anton, Karas Pavel and Dashkovskaya Nastya.
Another location is situated in one of the computer classes of the applied mathematics and information technologydepartment.
The teachers prepared presentations of specialties, a demonstration of students' work in the field of 3D modeling, videos, as well as a master class on website development in the Google Cite environment.
The head of the department, doctor of physical and mathematical sciences, professor Novozhilova Marina Vladimirovna and Bocharov Boris Petrovich told about the present day of the department and the prospects for the development of specialties for which the department is issuing, about establishing strong ties with leading IT companies, about cooperation with the IT cluster m Kharkov, on the level of salaries and a wide range of application of knowledge and skills of graduates in the IT field.
The guests of the department were representatives of Sloboda Lyceum No. 1, Babaevskaya secondary school, schools No. 157 and No. 162 of Kharkov, Kharkov Polytechnic Lyceum.
There were colleges - Kharkov Computer-Technological College NTU "KPI" and the Housing and Communal College.
All visitors received comprehensive information about the specialties of the Department of Applied Mathematics and Information Technologies of both full-time and accelerated forms of education, a detailed description of the features of this year’s admission campaign, an invitation to follow up with the department’s activities, as well as answers to all the questions that interested them. In the end, everyone was happy with communication.
