Kharkiv Technical Universities have been steadily for more than 10 years already having higher grades of higher education institutions in Ukraine, and the city is home to dozens of IT companies.
That is why Kharkiv was chosen for the Forum, which symbolically opened the STEM-week and became the first in a number of regional events to attract local companies and universities to sign the Technology Covenant for the Advancement of Women (, the aim of which is to strengthen the partnership of companies, universities, educational and public institutions, in order to develop the leadership potential of women.




This time the Forum was aimed at young women who are just starting to build their careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). The invited speakers spoke with master classes and presentations, talked about the opportunities that girls can use for self-development, and the mistakes that should be avoided.

Fesenko Galina Grigorievna, coordinator of projects of the Gender Center of Kharkiv National University of Municipal Economy named after. OHM. Beketova spoke about the activities of the Gender Center of the University (director - Bibik Natalia Valerievna), which was created to coordinate the scientific and practical activities of specialists, teachers, students in developing and implementing gender approaches in research, teaching and educational process.




The Gender Center successfully works, implementing the following main areas of activity, such as
- participation in the implementation of the State Program for the Implementation of Gender Equality with the Main Department for Family, Youth and Sports of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration;
- provision of consulting services to local self-government bodies in initiating, developing, implementing gender-oriented projects;
- development of effective technologies for the integration of the introduction of gender budgeting, gender audit in the budget policy of cities;
- development of methods of gender audit, etc.
The University has created unique conditions for the training and professional activities of girls and young women. On behalf of the rector of the university - Prof. V. Babayev, the University has created and operates the first among the educational institutions of higher education in the Kharkiv region Center for Development for Children.
